Frequently Asked Questions

How is salary tax calculated in Pakistan for 2025-26?

Pakistan taxes salaried income on progressive slabs: the first Rs 600,000 a year is tax-free, then 1% on income from Rs 600,001 to Rs 1.2 million, 11% up to Rs 2.2 million, 23% up to Rs 3.2 million, 30% up to Rs 4.1 million, and 35% above that. Each rate applies only to the income inside its slab. Our calculator applies these FBR Finance Act 2025-26 slabs automatically.

How much Zakat do I have to pay?

Zakat is 2.5% of your zakatable wealth — cash, gold and silver at market value, investments, business stock and money owed to you, minus your debts — held for one lunar year and at or above the nisab threshold (the value of 52.5 tola of silver). Enter your assets in our Zakat calculator to get the exact amount.

How can I estimate my WAPDA electricity bill?

Enter your monthly units and consumer category. Pakistan bills electricity on marginal slabs under the NEPRA FY 2025-26 tariff — for example non-protected consumers pay Rs 22.44/unit for the first 100 units, rising to Rs 47.69/unit above 700 units. Note the estimate covers base energy charges; fuel adjustments, GST and fixed charges are added on the real bill.

What is the difference between protected and non-protected electricity consumers?

Protected consumers use 200 or fewer units a month and pay subsidised rates (Rs 10.54/unit for 1-100 units). If you cross 200 units in a month you lose protected status and are billed at much higher non-protected rates.

How is GPA calculated in Pakistani universities?

GPA = sum of (grade points × credit hours) ÷ total credit hours, on the 4.0 scale (A+ = 4.0 down to F = 0.0) used by HEC and Pakistani universities. Add each subject with its credits and grade in our GPA calculator.
