How Old is Eminem?

Quick biography

Marshall Bruce Mathers III — Eminem — was born on October 17, 1972, in St. Joseph, Missouri, and raised in poverty in Detroit, Michigan, by his mother. He discovered hip-hop as a teenager, battling in Detroit’s underground rap scene under the name M&M before Dr. Dre signed him in 1998.

The Slim Shady LP (1999) and The Marshall Mathers LP (2000) — the fastest-selling rap album in history at the time — made him a global phenomenon and a lightning rod for controversy. The Eminem Show (2002) cemented him, and “Lose Yourself” from the semi-autobiographical film 8 Mile won the Academy Award for Best Original Song — the first rap song ever to do so. With over 220 million records sold, he is the best-selling rapper of all time and a 15-time Grammy winner.
