Quick biography

Donald John Trump was born on June 14, 1946, in Queens, New York City. He joined his family’s real-estate business and took control of the Trump Organization in 1971, developing office towers, hotels, casinos and golf courses. From 2004 to 2015 he hosted the NBC reality television show The Apprentice.

Trump was elected the 45th President of the United States in 2016 and served from 2017 to 2021. He was elected again in 2024 and inaugurated in January 2025 as the 47th President — becoming only the second U.S. president, after Grover Cleveland, to serve two non-consecutive terms.

Trump Tower, his flagship Manhattan skyscraper, opened in 1983, and his 1987 book The Art of the Deal became a bestseller. Through the 1990s and 2000s he expanded into casinos, golf courses and licensed products, becoming a celebrity businessman long before entering politics — a public profile that The Apprentice turned into a national television persona.
